Paper mache - works just fine with wallpaper paste, and way, wat cheaper than 'products'.
The basic set up done. I am useless at back scenes.
All the trees on the layout are made with wire and DAS clay plastered on with PVA. I tried hot gun glue as an alternative but it didn't stick to the wire and burnt my fingers.
Fencing added and teh first sleepers arrive to be painted. They are Monk's Gate, pricey but look the part.

This is based on a real company/place. Sleepers arrive in just about any open wagon, some times with chairs still attached abs sometimes covered in oil or whatever. The chairs get gassed off, the gunge scraped off and so and the good sleepers sold off to sleeper buying type people. The scrap ones got burned or turned into bag of what must have been pretty toxic kindling. It's also a handy place to park things. This is a never ending project I suspect.
