I have a bit on the layout where extension project left a random pier and retaining wall which I quite like and so left in place. So I needed a back story as to why they would be there and came up with the idea of it being part of an old tram/track way. So a bit of a memorial, and old wagon or something, seemed like a good idea. I found this O-16.5 wagon on eBay (AdrianMole shop), and at £15 inc post it seemed like a goer. It’s really for iron ore but WTH. Turns out to be a really nice model, well printed, well assembled, even with a floor and very free-rolling wheels. It even came with a pony to pull it! A weight and magnetic couplings finish it off nicely. If had a narrow gauge line I’d be getting more, though a fleet of ponies would be somewhat surplus to requirements… It’s going to get painted grey with some weathering and placed on a short length of track (alas the Hobby Holidays fish belly track is out of stock) with a little plaque being all commemorative and all that. The pony will go in a field with some nice grass.

Doing the Slartibartfast bit.

These were out pf stock for ages, so getting one as soon as they came back in was top priority. 

The original platform was made from LCUT Creative sections. Templates cut from spare make sure everything meets Guild standards.

What you get in the box.

I was very happy that corners didn't try the interleaving bricks thinsg - it gives horrible results. All the joints a beveled, and much better plan. The roof bevels were a bit to shallow, so after fitting the rafters I put some shaped reinforcements in. Just to be on the safe side.  

The kit itself is four walls, two roof halves, two chimneys, four windows and three doors. I decided to add an interior with lighting, so fist off a hall way. The building probably wouldn't have had one, but I wanted separate the lighting.
