I was hunting round for some sort of material to make a marquee type tent from when bingo, this turned up on eBay. The guy ropes are 0.5mm brass rod soldered to 0.9mm brass rod 'pegs'. In needs finials a rope to the tops at some point. Inside are two bunches of flickering LEDS of all colours producing pretty effective rave lighting. At some point some decks and a DJ or two will appear inside.

The multi-colour boundary fence is copied from a real festival, Equinoix. Some poor sod has gone right round their entire site painting the fence like it. I got bored after just this bit...

Poirot considers chucking Hastings in the fire. The fire is home made from red, yellow and orange fickering LEDS. You can get a huge box full with a mixture of the above, with blue and white too, in two sizes with resistors for a few quid on eBay. The 'wood' is chopped up stirrers.

Water taps from someone on eBay, bins from... alas I can't remember. The tens are from Three Peaks Models - they saved a lot of making there!
With the stage in place and a few punters arrived. I add more when suitable ones turn up at a good price or are particularly appropriate. Populating the whole festival is going to be very expensive.

I love a good festival. Perhaps not an activity usually associated with railway modellers, but then Hawkwind had a train set in their studio back in the day. The ice cream van (Oxford) and burger van (Invertrain) have had internal lights fitted, but not the camper van (Oxford). The stage is built form 1.0mm brass rod with stirrer planking and the roof supports, pretending to be hop poles, are kebab skewers (unused I hasten to add). The stage lights are bits of plastic tube with squares of plastikard providing supports. Sub mm LEDs in the tube provide the lights with bits of signal lens sheets over the ends providing the colours. The LEDs are wired into an eight channel random flasher unit based around the inevitable 555 timer. I recently changed the power source and will now have to put a bigger restistor in the timer circuit, it's way too fast at present. It's going to be a drag accessing it, man. The band are Modelu , and if they look remotely familiar it's pure coincidence. The drum kit is really nice, but very fragile! The mic stands are.... drum roll... 0.5mm brass rod again. I have amps and fold-back speakers designed and ready to 3d print, but, well, I'll get round to it. Soon. No, really... The main speakers are wired for sound, the plan is to connect something up to play wi-fi through them or something. I found a circuit once on line, but never been able to find it again. I'm on the lookout for some very thin/flexible material to make a cover for the stage, but so far everything has looked horribly cludgy and unrealistic.
