The instructions. Like the old Airfix written instructions, you kind have to know what the bits are called.
The nearest diagram I could find, to see just how closely coupled the pair are. A bit of flat brass with springs and split pins each end does the job - the pair a 'permanently' coupled as per prototype.
I didn't intend on keeping these, but I've decided I quite like them. As far as I can see these were converted from old coal wagons during WW2 and didn't last long afterwards so can't decide how to letter them.
